Nawabhat is situated about four kilometres west of Burdwan near the junction of GT Road and Sewri Road. There is also now a bus stand here. There are actually 108 Shiva Temples, which are arranged in such a manner that it looks like a rectangular garland (mala). In addition to 108 Temples there is also another extra Temple on the east side which means there is now 109 temples. These temples were erected by Vishnukumari Devi, the wife of Maharaja Tilak Chand Bahadur in 1789 AD. There are rituals for daily puja. Weekly fairs are held every year on the occasion of Shivratri. Currently, this is chaired by a council.
Throughout the year, countless devotees visit the temple. This is one of the notable places of growing. It has a beautiful garden inside and there is also a ferry pond which is pleasant to the environment. There are well arrangements for safe keeping the cars and shoes and water arrangement is also fine.
Burdwan is about 100 km from Howrah. Local, mail, express trains are always coming. Local, mail, express trains are also coming to Bardhaman from Asansol, Durgapur, Rampurhat, Suri, etc. Buses from Kolkata, Krishnanagar, Navadwip, Purulia, Bankura, Barakar, Asansol, Durgapur, Sainthia, Rampurhat, Arambagh, Katoa, Kalna, etc. are also coming to Bardhaman Bus Stand. If you want to come here, you can come to the Toto rickshaw or man-driven rickshaw from the station. One may come by bus those which are going to Durgapur or Guskara via Sewri road .Town service buses can also come from different places of Burdwan. When arriving from Kolkata or Asansol by the train then one can be reached here by the help of any of the above mentioned vehicles from the station.
১০৮ শিব মন্দির / নবাবহাট / বর্ধমান
জি টি রোড এবং সিউড়ি রোডের সংযোগস্থলে বর্ধমানের পশ্চিমে চার কিলোমিটার দূরে নবাবহাট । এখানে এখন বাস স্ট্যান্ডও হয়েছে।এখানে প্রকৃতপক্ষে আয়াতকার মালার ন্যায় ১০৮ টি ও একটি পূর্বদিকে বাইরে , মোট ১০৯ টি শিবমন্দির আছে। এই মন্দিরগুলি মহারাজ তিলকচাঁদ বাহাদুরের পত্নী বিষ্ণুকুমারী দেবী কর্তৃক ১৭৮৯ খৃষ্টাব্দে নির্মিত হয়। নিত্যপূজার ব্যবস্থা আছে। প্রতি বছর শিবরাত্রি উপলক্ষ্যে সপ্তাহ ব্যাপী মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বর্তমানে একটি আছি পরিষদ এর ত্বত্তাবধান করে।
সারা বছরই এখানে অগণিত ভক্ত মন্দির দর্শনে আসেন। বর্ধমানের এটি একটি অন্যতম দ্রষ্টব্য স্থান। এর ভিতর সুন্দর বাগান আছে এবং এখানে একটি ঘাট বাঁধানো পুকুরও আছে যেটা পরিবেশটিকে মনোরম করে রেখেছে । গাড়ি ও জুতো রাখার এবং জলের সুবন্দোবস্ত আছে।
বর্ধমান হাওড়া থেকে প্রায় ১০০ কিমি । লোকাল ,মেল্, এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেন আসছে সর্বদা। আসানসোল ,দুর্গাপুর,রামপুরহাট,সিউড়ি প্রভৃতি থেকেও লোকাল ,মেল্, এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেন আসছে বর্ধমানে। এছাড়াও কলকাতা,কৃষ্ণনগর,নবদ্বীপ,পুরুলিয়া,বাঁকুড়া, বরাকার ,আসানসোল,দুর্গাপুর,সাঁইথিয়া ,রামপুরহাট,আরামবাগ,কাটোয়া,কালনা প্রভৃতি স্থান থেকে বাস এসে দাড়াচ্ছে বর্ধমানের দুটি বাস স্ট্যান্ডে |এখানে আস্তে গেলে স্টেশন থেকে টোটো রিকশা বা মানুষ চালিত রিকশায় আসা যায়। বাসে গেলে , দুর্গাপুর বা সিউড়ি রড দিয়ে যে কোনো বাসে নবাবহাটে নামতে হবে। টাউন সার্ভিস বাসেও এখানে আসা যায় বর্ধমানের বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে। কলকাতা বা আসানসোল থেকে এলে ,ট্রেনে এসে স্টেশন থেকে উপরিউক্ত যেকোনো যানবাহনে এখানে আসা যেতে পারে।
